Our Projects Get InvolvedAVVAIS (Africa Value-Added Innovation Solutions) is a Rwandan non-governmental organization with a rich history of community transformation. Originally founded as the Association of Vulnerable Widows Affected and Infected by HIV/AIDS, we have evolved to address broader environmental and developmental challenges while maintaining our commitment to vulnerable communities.
From supporting vulnerable widows affected by HIV/AIDS to pioneering environmental solutions, our journey reflects our adaptive approach to community needs.
AVVAIS works with communities across Rwanda, building on our network of 76 cooperatives and more than 10,000 members to implement innovative solutions.
We have transformed thousands of lives through our programs, from health initiatives to sustainable environmental projects that create lasting change.
Our flagship project addresses critical environmental challenges through innovative waste management solutions. The thermophilic composting system transforms organic waste into valuable compost while safely managing chemical wastes that pose risks to communities and ecosystems.
This project represents our commitment to sustainable development that protects the environment while creating economic opportunities for communities.

Promoted mushroom production as an alternative to traditional agriculture in contexts of land scarcity, overfishing and climate change by producing and distributing seeds.
Supported sustainable, climate-resilient livelihoods for poor farming households in Bugesera District through innovative agricultural practices.
Implemented tuberculosis detection, care, and treatment programs for people living with HIV in Rwanda, improving health outcomes.
Conducted various HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns across Rwanda to reduce stigma, encourage testing, and promote prevention.
Founded as Association of Vulnerable Widows Affected and Infected by HIV/AIDS, starting as a small community-based organization.
Registered on September 6 as a national civil society organization, expanding our reach across Rwanda.
